It’s a particularly beautiful spot here in Salzburger Land at the foot of the Grossglockner: hidden hiking and mountain bike trails lead up into the surrounding mountains, while Lake Zell glistens in the valley below and is perfect for a swim. And right in the middle of this outdoor and natural paradise lies the Leading Camping & Holiday Resort Woferlgut: a five-star site that is particularly popular with active holidaymakers, families and wellness fans. Here you will find exactly what you are looking for – a varied range of leisure and sports activities, the finest spa and beauty treatments and the best entertainment for young and old alike. 200 generously and functionally equipped comfort and luxury pitches and 96 luxurious rental accommodations are standard here, and camping guests want for nothing in the modern bathhouses – if you want more privacy, you can even rent your own Bathroom. Non-campers are very welcome at the family-run four-star Hotel Woferlgut right next to the campsite.
The entire area of the Woferlgut sports camp is a huge adventure, play and sports ground. New quotes and activities await you everywhere: There are three tennis courts and a large indoor children’s area with a giant trampoline, a swimming lake, where you can even play beach volleyball, and a football pitch not far away. The 2000 square metre park-like adventure golf course is also great fun for the whole family: the challenge is to “kick” the ball through large boulders on a total of twelve courses with distances of up to 24 metres or to overcome streams that are A-Class into the terrain.
And then, of course, there is the highlight of all at the Woferlgut sports camp: the 4,500 m2 swimming world with five indoor and outdoor pools, sauna, whirlpool, modern fitness and wellness area and even a heated 50 metre pool. There’s something for everyone here: ambitious swimmers, families and wellness enthusiasts.
If, contrary to expectations, this is still not enough “activity offer”, you will find plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities of all kinds in the surrounding, dreamlike alpine landscape: mountain hiking, mountain biking, climbing… would you like a little more variety? Sportcamp Woferlgut also offers its guests guided hiking and biking tours. Salzburg, Zell am See or Saalbach-Hinterglemm are also not far away and are worthwhile day trip destinations.
Our excursion tip:
If you are travelling by car, have a head for heights and are also well practised at negotiating hairpin bends, you should plan a trip to the Grossglockner High Alpine Road. It is one of the most challenging roads in the Alps, with a winding ascent to the Edelweissspitze at Fuscher Törl, surrounded by 37 three-thousand metre peaks.
