Travelling along the Côte d’Azur
Our employees are not only given the opportunity to work on innovative vehicle concepts and manufacture them, but also to experience them for themselves in everyday life. As part of the Employee Test and Rent programme, our employees have the opportunity to rent our vehicles – an ideal opportunity to put them through their paces and take a varied tour through the south of France and northern Italy, for example.
This travelogue gives a personal insight into the route of our employee, who rented a Malibu Van diversity coupé 600 DB K, the experiences on the road and the everyday suitability and comfort of the Malibu Van. Such first-hand experience is valuable and also helps us to better understand and further develop our products from the customer’s perspective.

Our journey began in Aulendorf in Upper Swabia and first took us to Geneva. After a day in the Swiss city, we continued our journey southwards and reached the picturesque town of Fontvieille near Montpellier.
The following day, we travelled on to the Mediterranean coast, more specifically to the charming town of Hyères. We spent four days there, enjoying the pleasant climate and the relaxed atmosphere.
From Hyères, we travelled along the famous Côte d’Azur, past cities such as Nice, Cannes and Monaco. Our destination was the small village of Latte near Ventimiglia, just a few kilometres from Menton. We stayed there for two relaxing days.
We rounded off our trip with a visit to Lake Maggiore. We spent the last four days of our holiday in Feriolo and let the trip come to an end in peace and quiet.

Geneva
As we could only spend one day in Geneva, we started our stay directly on Lake Geneva and relaxed there first – thanks to the ideal location of our campsite, TCS Camping Genève. Thanks to the bus stop just five minutes away, we were able to reach the city centre quickly and take a short stroll through the city.
Fontvieille
The best croissants and baguettes of the trip awaited us in this charming little provincial town – we highly recommend this bakery. Our Huttopia Fontvieille campsite impressed with its quiet, wooded location and was the perfect place to switch off.
Hyères
Unexpectedly, we came across a special event here: the Semaine Olympique Française, one of the most important sailing regattas in the world, where top Olympic teams compete against each other. We were even able to meet some of the participants at the campsite while they were preparing.
Hyères was a real highlight: wild flamingos, numerous windsurfers, excellent food, the idyllic Giens peninsula and a day trip by bike to the island of Porquerolles made this place an unforgettable experience.
Latte near Ventimiglia
After three very comfortable campsites, Por La Mar in Latte was somewhat more simply equipped, but impressed with a practical shuttle service: For just €6, we travelled to Ventimiglia and Menton every hour. From there, we went on an exciting day trip by train to glamorous Monte Carlo (Monaco).
Feriolo (Lake Maggiore)
We ended our trip at a luxurious glamping site right on the shores of Lake Maggiore. The pitch with lake view left nothing to be desired. From here, we explored the charming towns of Feriolo and Baveno and enjoyed a relaxing end to our holiday.
