Presentation of our partner Aguti
“Aguti Produktentwicklung & Design GmbH" is a medium-sized company with its current headquarters in Langenargen on Lake Constance. The company was founded in 1992 by the owner and managing director Andreas Grieger in Mindelheim. The graduate designer developed one of the first belt-integrated motorhome seats with the aim of bringing the perfect motorhome seat onto the market. The company's namesake and heraldic animal comes from the South American rodent of the same name, Dasyprocta Aguti, and was personally chosen by Andreas Grieger. The rodent embodies important corporate points: On the one hand, it looks cute and friendly - but also strong and dynamic. Aguti is also translated as "golden rabbit" in German, which is why the Aguti logo is coloured golden accordingly.
Also in 1992, the company moves from Mindelheim to Kressbronn. There, the first seats for motorhome manufacturers are developed in a converted greenhouse. The small family business quickly becomes an internationally operating company with increasing series production. In 1997, the company expands and moves into its own premises in Langenargen.
Seven years later, the technology & design division is also expanded. In 2005, "Aguti Produktentwicklung & Design GmbH" wins the Grand Prize of Medium-Sized Businesses with the words: "Everything from a single source - From the idea to construction, design and production to sales, Aguti Produktentwicklung & Design GmbH from Langenargen stands as a complete supplier for seating systems of all kinds to the automotive industry." In 2018, the company is expanding again with an extension to the company building. On 1 April 2019, Sebastian Janssen takes up the position of managing director and thus takes over the operational management of the automotive division in the company. The industrial engineer originally comes from Bonn and has already gained over 20 years of experience in the automotive industry at TÜV Rheinland in Cologne. Andreas Grieger, who had been managing director until then, will remain with the company as managing partner and will from now on be responsible for the strategic development of "Aguti Produktentwicklung & Design GmbH".
On 01.10.2019, Aguti was taken over by Alois Kober GmbH (AL-KO). However, the Aguti product brand remains as an independent unit and operates with the existing name under the umbrella brand AL-KO Fahrzeugtechnik. Since 01.01.2020, Aguti is officially part of the AL-KO Group and thus complements the range of services offered by AL-KO and its partners with seating technology, with individual seats, benches and connections in the van, motorhome or special vehicles.
Aguti's philosophy is - flexible and reliable. Above all, they rely on innovative products with know-how and quality. In addition, Aguti manufactures mainly in Germany and relies on close cooperation with its customers. This attitude coincides with our striving for regionality, innovation and premium quality. Because of this, Aguti seats are perfect for our motorhomes, which also stand for exclusivity and quality. Due to the variety of swivel brackets and seat substructures, it is possible to install Aguti seats in all common vehicle types.
